The quarter page ad designed by Steve Wagenseller has appeared in Language Magazine. It looks great.

Bill Harris informs me that he has not yet been able to perceive an effect of this ad.

I would prefer that our advertisement efforts were more effective. However, I believe that we are making in progress, in that we now actually have an advertising effort. This is the second ad we have purchased in two years.

La reklamo plejparte penas vendi "Pasporto al la Tuta Mondo"-on, sed samtempe propagandas Esperanton mem.

Thursday night I gave a talk to five people at the public library here in Austin, Texas. The Austin library has purchased some Esperanto novels for their "World Literature" section.

They contacted the central office, and Bill put them in touch with me. They quite often have similar talks as part of a regular series.

Based on the questions and reaction from the crowd, I think it went rather well. My friend John Underwood should up and was able to add some counterpoint to my lecture.

Ĉar PG elmontros liston de lingvoj kun pli ol 50 libroj, Esperanto saltis al tiu tre videbla listo inter 10 aliaj vaste uzataj lingvoj. Oni rajtas esperi ke ĉi tio listo en unu de la plej vaste vizita retpaĝaro en la mondo helpos multajn homojn ekscii pri Esperanto. Tion reklamon kaj donacon al la mondo kaj precipe al legantoj de Esperantaj libroj celis ni dum tri jaroj.

Lastatempe, s-ro Dorcas petas min respondi al peto por informo de Barbara Pietrzak, la estrino de Pola Radio kaj laboranto informado por UEA. Ŝi petas raporton pri rilatoj de landaj asocioj al gazetaro kaj publiko, kaj demandis dek demandojn.

Mi estas estro al Komitato de Informado de Esperanto-USA. Dankon al vi pro via laboro por la movado.

De sube, bv. trovu respondojn al viaj demandoj.

Tamen, eble estas pli bona se mi penas klarigi la situacion en Usono.

Mi anticipas bonan kongreson pro la internacia partoprenontaro.

Mi pardonpetas pro la malsukceso de la blogfesto ĉi jare kompare de lastajaro. Steve BREWER organizis ĝin lastajare, sed li kaj mi ne havas tempon por bone reklami ĝin ĉijare. Tamen, oni povas vidi la ok partorprenatojn kaj iliaj afiŝojn ĉi tie.

To promote Esperanto Day, we are once again promoting a blogfest for December 15th. Please promote Esperanto-Tago 2007 and this link,
which mentions a form to use for reporting participating blogs and requesting translation help.

We are encouraging bloggers to make a blog post about language problems on December 15th, to mention Esperanto as a solution, and if possible to post in both their mother tongue and Esperanto.

Today I got my first issue of Language)( Magazine. I thought I should subscribe to it before we purchased an ad there.

As some have pointed out, this magazine may not be a friendly audience to our message. Nonetheless, after reading through the magazine, I am more convinced than ever that it is worth placing an ad there.

I intend to draft an ad based on the Lee Miller's suggestions, and then present it here for comments and improvements, as we did with the last ad.
